Marcela Quintanilla was the mother of three children. Selena began her career at the age of eight in a group that was formed by the late Abraham Quintanilla. Selena along with her siblings Abraham junior and sister Suzette were drummers. Selena sang for the group. The group was dubbed Selena Y Los Dino and Selena would be performing with her siblings in different wedding fairs, bars, restaurants and other events. Selena as well as her siblings and their parents were very involved in the group. They never really had any kind of childhood. However, Abraham encouraged them to become dedicated musicians by his determination. Abraham senior, who was also in Los Dinos' original band, played the guitar. Selena Y Los Dinos were official founded in the year 1981. The family business was called Selena Y Los Dinos which was the primary source of income for the family. Quintanilla was determined, even though being a poor financial situation in the beginning. They continued to work toward becoming a winning family band.
